Introduction to Synchronization
(1-Day Programme – 8 hours) When an organization is synchronized, its ability to achieve its goals increases exponentially. A Systems Thinking approach determines how an organization functions in detail. In order to synchronize production and/or resources we must have a basic understanding of the consequences of managing systemically combined with the concept of the ‘constraint’ of the system. Intelligent Management adopts a Systemic approach as its platform. Aim This course provides a technical and philosophical understanding of the concept of the constraint of an organization, how to ‘choose’ it and how to subordinate and synchronize activities to the constraint so as to use it as a leverage point. Methodology This module includes a theoretical introduction to Synchronization based on the Theory of Constraints (TOC) followed by practical exercises using a simulator. Participants will practice scheduling the production of an ‘ideal’ plant, and subsequently, using a second simulator they will observe the effects of the same scheduling process on a ‘real’ plant (introducing variation). |
