Do you really understand what leadership means?
Everybody talks about leadership, but what does it actually mean? Is it something that is innate or can it be learned?
A leader in today’s complex world cannot simply be a charismatic personality. They must be somebody who has a theory, i.e. somebody who “owns” a body of knowledge that backs their claims that they can accomplish a transformation within their span of control. That transformation must include:
- system optimization as a prerequisite for innovation;
- cooperation in the place of competition;
- performances managed using appropriate statistical thinking and not assessed deterministically;
- fostering of teamwork instead of the ranking of individuals.
- project structure in the place of traditional hierarchy
This is the model of organization that can thrive today. It requires a different mindset and a different kind of leadership. The Decalogue provides the methodological framework and tools to make it happen.
